Prerequisite: PSYC 3242. Cognitive dissonance is an unpleasant state caused by behaving in a manner that is inconsistent with our beliefs. This course focuses on the conditions under which cognitive dissonance appears, strategies used to reduce dissonance, and the effects of dissonance on behaviors.
