Prerequisite: CDYC 101 Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials for young children; required knowledge and skills in curriculum content area and in developmentally appropriate practice.

Prerequisites: Three (3) years experience as a director in a child care setting or CDA credential (or test-out equivalent), and permission from the CDYC program coordinator. This course is designed for directors of childcare centers or students who have plans to become a director in a childcare facility. Topics include: quality programs in childcare, determining the needs of the community, planning the budget, writing a business proposal, childcare licensing and other laws, facility regulations, supplies and equipment, staff issues, marketing, daily program, responsibilities, parenting concerns and other administrative matters.

Prerequisites: all CDYC courses with a grade of "C" or better, a candidate for graduation, and permission from the program coordinator. Supervised work experience in an approved childcare setting.

Prerequisites: CHEM 107 or PHSC 106 or permission of the instructor and ACT Math score of 18 or MATH 102. Fundamental skills and knowledge required for a continued study of chemistry and the related sciences. Topics include structure of atoms, nature and types of chemical bonding, factors that determine the geometry of molecules and ions, periodic properties of elements, behavior and properties of gases, stoichiometric calculations, and thermochemistry.

Prerequisite: Previous credit or current registration in CHEM 101. Laboratory skills and knowledge required for a continued study of chemistry and related sciences. The course is designed to reinforce concepts in Chemistry 101 lecture.

Prerequisite: CHEM 101. A continuing study of fundamental chemistry concepts by building on topics covered in CHEM 101. Topics include intermolecular forces, liquids and solids, solutions,kinetics and equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry.

Prerequisite: Previous credit or current registration in CHEM 102. Fundamental chemistry laboratory skills and knowledge required for a continued study of chemistry and related sciences. The course is designed to reinforce concepts in Chemistry 102 lecture.

Prerequisite: MATH 098 or Math ACT score of 19 or higher. Chemistry for nursing and other allied health students. This course presents the basics of inorganic chemistry including scientific measurements and calculations, elements and compounds, ionic and covalents bonding, stoichiometry, calorimetry, gases, solutions and concentrations, acids and bases.

Prerequisite: Previous credit or current enrollment in CHEM 107. Laboratory experiences to accompany an introduction to inorganic chemistry. Techniques, calculations, data collection, reporting of results, and safety in the chemical laboratory are emphasized.

Prerequisites: CHEM 107 or CHEM 101. Organic and biochemistry for nursing and allied health majors. Emphasis is placed upon recognizing and drawing organic and biochemical compounds, chemical reactions of these compounds, IUPAC and common nomenclature, and processes important in the makeup and function of living systems.
