Prerequisite: ALHT 201. Advanced concepts of clinical procedures, including diet/nutrition, working in gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, neurology, orthopedics, psychiatry, rehabilitation, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, urology, dermatology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, endrocrinology, oncology, immunology, and allergy.

2.00 - 3.00 Credits
Corequisite: ALHT 112 and instructor permission. Hands-on practice of the skills acquired in ALHT 112. The clinical experience is focused on performing a variety of non-invasive cardiology tests, EKG interpretation, and arrhythmia recognition. Minimum 90 hours of practical experience.

Prerequisite: ZLGY 120 or ZLGY 124. Specific disease processes, etiology, signs and symptoms, diagnostic procedures, treatments, prognoses, and prevention. An overview of the disease process, infectious diseases, neoplasms, and congenital diseases are also presented.

Prerequisite: ZLGY 110 and ZLGY 120 or ZLGY 124. This course is designed to prepare students to pronounce, spell, define and recall abbreviations associated with advanced medical language.

4.00 Credits
Prerequisites: Permission of the department. Principles and techniques of a variety of laboratory procedures commonly performed in the clinical setting. The course presents urinalysis, hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiological testing and specimen collection, preparation and transportation. The course includes a laboratory component.

3.00 - 4.00 Credits
Prerequisite: Co-requisite: ALHT 203; completion of ALHT 201, ALHT 209, and MOS 206L the semester immediately prior. The medical assistant student will practice in a doctor's office or other medical facility to gain work experience in the performance of medical assistant administrative and medical duties. Minimum of 200 hours of practical experience. This class requires that a student be assigned Monday-Friday, day hours only. Spring.

3.00 - 7.00 Credits
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Phlebotomy clinical program. Hands-on phlebotomy experience and classroom instruction in patient preparation, selection and preparation of puncture sites, collection of specimens, maintenance of equipment, and post-collection client care at a variety of clinical sites.

2.00 Credits
Instruction in the selection and collection of blood from donors, agencies that regulate blood collection and the function and use of blood components.

3.00 Credits
Development of design as a basic problem-solving, creative activity. Two and three dimensional project work, individual criticism, class discussions, and outside research.

Prerequisites: ART 101. Continuation of studies in fundamentals of design, emphasizing advanced problems including color theory, product design, and basics of graphic design.
