Using a hands-on approach, students will become familiar with basic editing techniques, saving files, printing documents, and other basic word processing tasks.     3 hours credit Cost Accounting relates the principles and methods of analyzing accounting data for planning and control, product costing, and decision making. Emphasis is placed on job orders, process and standard cost accounting systems, budgeting, and costvolume- profit analysis. The course is designed to satisfy both those students who desire a terminal course and those who need study preparatory to taking more advanced accounting courses. Students are expected to have all assignments completed on time Prerequisite: Completion of Accounting I (BUSN- 0101) and Accounting II (BUSN-0102) with a grade of "C"or better in each.     3 hours credit This course covers the theory and practical application of modern managerial accounting techniques for manufacturing firms and other types of businesses. Topics will include tools that can be used by managers and others to determine how their businesses are performing and how this cost data may be used for decision making. The course is designed to satisfy both those students who desire a terminal course and those who need study preparatory to taking more advanced accounting courses.     3 hours credit Business Law I acquaints students with the legal framework that regulates business activity in the United States. It includes a brief introduction to the history and philosophy of law and the American legal system as it relates to business activity. The course concentrates on the essential elements of legally enforceable contracts. The course also introduces students to the legal rules governing agency, partnerships, employment, and insurance. Prerequisite: Accuplacer reading score of 75- 120 or completion of READ-0092 with a C or better.     3 hours credit Intermediate Accounting presents a review of the theory and application of accounting theory and an analysis of special problems which may arise requiring management decisions. Emphasis is placed on the preparation and analysis of financial reports. The course is designed to satisfy both those students who desire a terminal course and those who need study preparatory to taking more advanced accounting courses. Prerequisites: Completion of Accounting I (BUSN-0101) and Accounting II (BUSN-0102) with a grade of "C" or better ineach.
