3 hours credit An introduction to the history and philosophy of camping. Training in leadership and camp counseling. An introduction to a variety of outdoor educational programs and activities, survival, wilderness camping, camping for special populations and beginning camping skills. There are no on ground meetings for this course.

2 hours credit Group exercise teaching methods is designed to prepare Exercise Science majors to organize, lead, and evaluate their participants in various types of health/fitness activities. Topics include class lesson plan development, proper body mechanics and techniques, FIT principle, target rate heart, rate of perceive exertion, safety/injury prevention, choreography, and a variety of fitness activities.

3 hours credit This course is to introduce the scientific discipline of Exercise Science. Students will be exploring the areas of exercise science, exercise physiology, preventive and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries, biomechanics, sport psychology, motor learning, nutrition and health benefits of exercise.

3 hours credit This is course will be a comprehensive overview in the foundations of coaching. This course will be an introductory level for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in coaching.

3 hours credit Scientific and well-balanced information concerning personal, school, family, and community health is presented. The emphasis is on the application of fundamental principles of health for traditional and non-traditional students. Nutrition, stress, exercise, AIDS, cancer, smoking, drugs, aging and the environment are key issues.

3 hours credit This course is designed to expose students to the dimensions of wellness, with an emphasis on the benefits of physical fitness. Risk factors for heart disease and cancer, as well as a variety of personal health issues are covered. Students are required to exercise in the KCKCC Wellness & Fitness Center or some other fitness center in their area to improve their physical wellness. On ground meetings for this course are not required. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills and regular Internet access/skills. Please review the Online Course Requirements.

3 hours credit This course is designed to prepare students to teach physical education to children grades K-6. It will use developmental approach and stress exploratory methods of teaching young children variety of games, dance, gymnastics, and healthrelated fitness activities.
