1 hour credit This course is designed for students to improve all the basic swimming strokes, turns and dives. In addition, students how to guard, anticipating and preventing problems before they occur, and taking action to help those in danger when necessary. Prerequisite: Completion of EXSC-0132, Beginning Swimming, and EXSC-0133, Intermediate Swimming, or Current Red Cross Beginning and Intermediate Swimming Certification. 187

1 hour credit Tennis class is designed for two purposes: 1) to appreciate the game of tennis; 2) to learn proper techniques and improve the student's knowledge and skills.

1 hour credit A variety of instructional methods may be used depending on content area. These include but are not limited to: lecture, multimedia, cooperative/collaborative learning, labs and demonstrations, projects and presentations, speeches, debates, and panels, conferencing, learning experiences, and performances outside the classroom. Methodology will be selected to best meet student needs.

1 hour credit This is a multi-level course designed to improve the participant's muscular strength and/or endurance and to provide instruction on how to safely perform numerous resistance training exercises and how to design your own resistance training plan.

1 hour credit Student/Staff ID required to check in. Appropriate workout attire. Men over 40 and women over 50 are required to show physician's approval to exercise. Students with any major medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity or pregnancy must show physician's approval. Physician's approval forms can bepicked up at the fitness center prior to the fitness screening.

1 hour credit ( pass/no pass) "Wellness & Fitness Center" is a one credit hour, pass/no passexercise class. Participants exercise and attend seminars at the Wellness & Fitness Center for a minimum of 22.5 hours per semester. This course is designed specifically for the person who is just interested in exercising at the fitness center. Community members can take this course (EXSC-0148) continuously each semester. Students on financial aid can take this class four times as EXSC-0148, EXSC-0149, EXSC-0150 and EXSC-0151.

1 hour credit "Personal Fitness" is a one credit hour, graded exercise class.Participants exercise and attend seminars at the Wellness & Fitness Center for a minimum of 22.5 hours per semester. The student will be able to also complete The Wellness Workbook. Participants can also take advantage of the full fitness assessment, nutrition analysis, body fat testing, and personal training for an additional fee. Students on financial aid can take this class four times as EXSC-0152, EXSC-0153, EXSC- 0154 and EXSC-0155.
