Students will perform specialized skill needed when caring for the patient living at home. Prerequisite: Kansas certifi ed nurse aide certifi cation, and must successfully pass the CASAS reading test 8th grade level). Successful completion of this class will allow the student to take the Kansas State Examination and become certifi ed by the State Department of Health and Environment.

History of Early Civilization is a survey of early world history spanning the dawn of humanity through the Age of Discovery. Included in the course is the study of early Stone Age societies and the rise of the Neolithic cultures of Mesopotamia, Africa, Europe, India, China and Mesoamerica. The course will also examine the classical and medieval civilizations of the old and new worlds, exploring developments in the arts, politics, culture, technology, and economics. The focus of the class will be global, drawing parallels and highlighting differences in the human experience across dimensions of space and time.
