DANCE 340R: Modern Dance Technique

Prerequisite: DANCE 240 or 290 or consent of instructor This course will explore modern dance using a variety of methods of movement awareness in order to promote optimal movement effi ciency and potential. Simple and complex movement patterns and rhythms will be explored through movement combinations, choreography and some improvisation. Alignment and conditioning of the body will be emphasized. Methods of dance/body therapies will be incorporated. Trends and current events of modern dance will be covered in the form of a group project. (Fall, Winter, Spring)
