    The class endeavors to initiate a process wherein students establish definitions and goals of self-growth, and the capacity to realize them. The core concept (derived from Zen) is that of mindfulness. A major means utilized to attain these ends is zazen, i.e., sitting zen. We will integrate this practice with study of diverse texts, in class exercises, and an off-campus project.
