An introduction to the "language" and practices of music making. The development of aural and performing skills are central to the course, as are the basic understandings of musical fundamentals: rhythm, pitch, modes, melody, harmony, texture, musical structures, and notation. During the latter part of the course class members develop their own original music as the final part of their semester e-portfolio.
