In today's world of aggressive and strategic corporate policy-making, this course will not only provide a theoretical framework to prospective business leaders, but will also enable them to cope with some of the real problems of mergers and acquisitions with a greater degree of confidence. Some of the topics to be covered in this course include: motives and determination of mergers; merger tactics; leveraged buyouts (LBOs); divestitures; safeguards against corporate raiders and junk bonds; and the various theories of mergers.
