Transient response for first and second order systems, including time constants, damping ratio, natural frequencies, overshoot and settling time. Relative and absolute stability. Analytical and empirical modeling of engineering systems. Control engineering topics including block diagrams, Routh Hurwitz, root locus and bode plots. Introduction to PID and lead/lag compensators and to design of feedback control systems with root locus, bode and or simulation.

Pre-requisites: Senior standing or permission of MEEEP Director. This is an engineering technical elective open to those student who have selected and been accepted into the MEEP. The course will focus on integrating elements of entrepreneurship with engineering. New venture creations and creation of new product lines within existing businesses are analyzed through case studies and semester projects. Students will develop a business plan associated with their senior design projects.
