(Pre/Corequisites: ACT 102) Continues development of air systems concepts, theories, and skills. Emphasis will be placed on test and balance techniques and fan laws. Topics include: test and balance techniques, fan laws, and safety.

(Pre/Corequisites: ACT 109 and ACT 112) Provides an increased level of concepts and theory beyond ACT 102. Students are introduced to more design theory in commer cial refrigeration. Topics include: refrigeration heat calcu lation, equipment selection, refrigeration piping, codes, and safety.

(Pre/Corequisite: ACT 206) Introduces the application of fundamental theories and concepts of refrigeration. Em phasis will be placed on equipment application and instal lation procedures. Topics include: equipment application, installation procedures, cycle controls, energy manage ment, and safety.

(Pre/Corequisites: ACT 206 and ACT 207) Continues to provide experience in maintenance techniques in servicing light commercial refrigeration systems. Topics include: system clearing, troubleshooting procedures, replacement of components, and safety.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Focuses on basic normal structure and function of the human body. Topics include: medical terms describing the human body and structure and function of the human body.

(Prerequisite: MAT 101) Utilizes basic mathematical concepts and includes basic drug administration. Topics include: resource materials, systems of measurement, abbreviations, drug calculations, and administration of medications in a simulated clinical environment.

2.00 Credits
A study of the nutritional needs of the individual. Topics include: basic nutrients, food sources, the role nutrition plays in the maintenance of health for the individual, and using diet to treat certain pathologic conditions.

{Prerequisite: Provisional admission) Introduces a grouping of fundamental principles, practices, and issues common to many specializations in the health care profession. In addi tion to the essential skills, students explore various delivery systems and related issues. Topics include: basic life sup- port/CPR, basic emergency care/first aid and triage, vital signs, infection control, and blood/air-borne pathogens.

(Prerequisite: MAT 101 or MAT 191) Introduces chemi cal concept principles, laws, and techniques applicable to the medical laboratory. Topics include: laboratory safety, fundamental principles of chemistry, weight and measures, solutions, and basic laws of chemistry.

(Prerequisite: Provisional admission) Introduces the ele ments of medical terminology. Emphasis is placed on build ing familiarity with medical words through knowledge of roots, prefixes, and suffixes. Topics include: origins; word building; abbreviations and symbols; terminology related to the human anatomy; reading medical orders and reports; and terminology specific to the student's field of study.
