Topics include: ethical management, individual behavior, group behavior, employee protective laws, and techniques of public speaking.

Topics include: team selection and management; project planning, definition and scheduling of tasks; re source negotiation, allocation, and leveling; project con trol, monitoring, and reporting; computer tools for project planning and scheduling; managing complex relationships between project team and other organisations; critical path methodology; and total quality management.

(Prerequisite: Provisional admission) This course focuses on communication, supervision, and organizations in the age of technology. It builds on the basic computer skills introduced in SCT 100 using computer-based technology to develop skills in applying information technology. The student will create written, verbal, and electronic commu nication applied to supervisory functions in the work place. Topics include: word processing applications; spreadsheet applications; database applications, presenta tion technology and applications, graphical interface appli cations, interpersonal communications; group communications and team building; organizational com munications; and global, intercultural, and ethical issues in communicating.

The challenge on providing world-class customer service is addressed through sections on prin ciples of service industry supervision, career development, problem solving, stress management, and conflict resolu tion. Topics include: principles of service industry supervi sion, team building, customer service operations, TQM in a service environment, business software applications, communication in the service sector, introduction to infor mation systems, selling principles and sales management, retail management, and legal issues in the service sector
