(Prerequisite: DEN 134) Emphasizes procedures for office management in dental practices. Topics include: oral and written communication, records management, appoint ment control, dental insurance form preparation, account ing procedures, supply and inventory control, and basic computer skills. A computer lab provides basic skills in computer use and utilization of these skills to perform office procedures on a microcomputer.

(Pre/Corequisite: AHS 104, DEN 105, DEN 134, DEN 139) Practicum focuses on infection control in the dental office and assisting with diagnostic and simple operative procedures. Topics include: infection control procedures, clinical diagnostic procedures and general dentistry proce dures.

(Pre/Corequisite: DEN 132, DEN 141, DEN 146) Practicum focuses on advanced general dentistry proce dures and chairside assisting in dental specialties with special emphasis on nonsurgical specialties. Topics include: advanced general dentistry arid specialties.

(Pre/Corequisite: DEN 103, DEN 137, DEN 140, DEN 134, DEN 135, DEN 136, DEN 146, DEN 147) Practicum continues to focus on assisting chairside with advanced general dentistry procedures with emphasis on dental office management, preventive dentistry and ex panded functions. Topics include: advanced general den tistry procedures, preventive dentistry, dental office management, expanded functions, chairside in specialties, and management of dental office emergencies. DIS 150 Directed Individual Study Provides the instructor and student an opportunity to develop special learning environments. Instruction is delivered through occupational work experiences, practicums, advanced projects, industry sponsored work shops, seminars, or specialized and/or innovative learning arrangements. Each course is documented with a written agreement between the instructor and the student detail ing expected requirements. Varies between 1 and 12 credit hours based upon 30 clock hours equalling 1 credit hour.

Provides students with foundations necessary to work in warehousing and distribution centers. Topics include: an introduction to the certified warehousing specialist pro gram, warehousing and distribution centers, business principles, general plant safety, learning for success, and positive work ethics.

Provides students with workplace practices necessary to work in warehousing and distribution centers. Topics include: listening skills, working together, managing change, personal wellness, problem solving, positive image, and job interview skills.

Provides students with foundations necessary to operate and analyze appropriately in the warehousing and distribu tion career fields. Topics include: mission and operations, key warehousing job functions, warehousing productivity measures, and tools for excellence.

Provides students with core warehousing skills necessary to work in warehousing and distribution centers. Topics include: powered industrial trucks, processing hazardous materials, palletizing, protecting materials and merchan' dise, and waste recovery in the warehouse and distribution center.

Provides students with the tools and skills necessary to work effectively in warehousing and distribution careers. Topics include: warehousing data applications, scanners and data entry, handling systems, introduction to comput ers and automation, introduction to industrial controls, and methods of inventory management.

(Prerequisite: Provisional admission) Introduces concepts relating the responsibilities and procedures involved in a variety of early childhood care situations. Topics include: historical perspectives, career opportunities, work ethics, functioning in a team environment, transitional activities, program management, learning environment, cultural diversity, licensure and accreditation, and professional resource file (portfolio) guidelines.
