(Pre/Corequisite: SCT 100) Provides a study of the use of spreadsheet and database software as applied to construc tion estimating. Topics include: producing an estimate using both item and work package take-off methods, copy ing or modifying an existing estimate, repricing an esti mate, and printing reports. Use of up-to-date construction estimation software is emphasized in this course.

An in-depth study of the contractual relationship between the parties involved in building construction contracting. Topics include: bonds, insurance, bidding, awarding, and subcontracting types and conditions.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Introduction to Certi fied Nurse Assistant Fundamentals, Introductory Anatomy and Physiology, Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscita tion, and Nutrition and Diet Therapy will be presented. Competency areas also included in the course are: the roles and responsibilities of the CNA in a health care setting; and emphasis on basic health care techniques, legalities, ethics, and safety.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Introduces the funda mental theory and practices of the cosmetology profession. Emphasis will be placed on professional practices and safety. Topics include: State and local laws, rules, and regulations; professional image; bacteriology; decontami nation and infectious control; chemistry fundamentals; safety, Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance; and anatomy and physiology.

(Pre/Corequisites: COS 100) Introduces the chemistry and chemical reactions of permanent wave solutions and relaxers. Topics include: permanent wave techniques, safety procedures, chemical relaxer techniques, and permanent wave and chemical relaxer application on mannequins.

(Pre/Corequisites: COS 100) Introduces the theory, proce dures, and products in the care and treatment of the skin, scalp, and hair. Topics include: treatment theory; basic corrective hair and scalp treatments; plain facial products and supplies; and diseases and disorders.

(Pre/Corequisite COS 100) Introduces the fundamental theory and skills required to shampoo and create shapings, pincurls, fingerwaves, roller placement, and combouts. Topics include: braiding/intertwining hair, shampoo chem istry, shampoo procedures, styling principles, pincurls, roller placement, fingerwaves, combout techniques, skipwaves, ridgecurls, and safety precautions.

(Prerequisite: COS 100) Introduces the theory and skills necessary to apply haircutting techniques. Safe use of haircutting implements will be stressed. Topics include: haircutting terminology, safety and sanitation, cutting implements, and haircutting techniques.

(Prerequisite: COS 101; Corequisite: COS 100, 103, 105, 106) Provides instruction in the application of permanent waves and relaxers. Precautions and special problems involved in applying permanent waves and relaxers will be emphasized. Application of perms and relaxers on live models is included. Topics include: timed permanent wave, timed relaxer application, safety precautions, and Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance.

(Prerequisite: COS 100; Corequisites: COS 101, 103, 105, 106, 108) Presents the application of temporary, semi permanent, deposit only, and permanent hair coloring and decolorization products. Topics include: basic color con cepts, law of color, hair structure and color, classifications of color, safety precautions, skin and hair reactions, level of color, consultation, communication and record and release forms, product knowledge, formulations, chemistry, appli' cation procedures, lighteners, toners, special problems in hair color and corrective coloring, terminology review, and lash and brow tints.
