The course also focuses on implementing Group Policy and understanding the Group Policy tasks required to centrally manage users and computers.

(Prerequisite: CIS 105, and an operating systems course) A course designed to allow the student to solve common database retrieval problems through the use of the SQL Language that supports common databases such as SQL/ Server, ORACLE, DB2, ACCESS and other database systems. Topics include: Understanding database vocabu lary, understanding object and relational database con cepts, understanding and implementing SQL statements that retrieve, insert, update and delete data in a database, ability to implement aggregate and group SQL functions, create, edit and drop database tables, query data from multiple databases, design queries and sub queries, develop an understanding of union, and join operations, under stand how to execute and implement database triggers.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Internet Business Fundamentals teaches students how to access the Internet and the World Wide Web using a Web browser as a general-purpose internet application. Students will learn to use the Internet for e-mail, the World Wide Web, news-groups, Gopher, Veronica, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Telnet. Students will gain experi ence using and configuring both Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer to access rich multime dia data and objects as well as Java, Shockwave, and Active X content. A variety of Web-based search en gines will be used to conduct advanced searches and learn the basics of project leadership, security, and e-business solutions. Students will also learn about busi ness on the Internet, and how business research can help companies gain market intelligence.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) HTML Fundamen tals is designed to teach basic through intermediate concepts in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) authoring, including forms, complex table design, graphic elements, and client-side image maps. Students will design interlinking pages that incorporate, in prac tical applications, a wide range of HTML tags and at tributes.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Web Site Design Tools teaches an understanding of how to create and manage impressive sites using the sizable amounts of new technology available on the Web. Students will learn to create web sites using various web tools such as FrontPage, NetObjects Fusion, Dynamic HTML, and various multimedia and CSS standards.

(Prerequisite: Program admission) Web Graphics and Multimedia teaches the use of powerful tools for model ing scanned images and illustrations into creative art work. In this course, students will learn techniques for quickly creating attractive textures for backgrounds, compositing images seamlessly, simulating surface re flections and shadows, and creating effects with type. Advanced tools will be used for selecting parts of im ages, moving, duplicating, and resizing images. Students will utilize painting tools to manipulate images, and will perform adjustments to contrast and color balance.

(Prerequisite: SCT 100) Provides a study of spread sheets. Topics include: advanced spreadsheet concepts, development of macros, data integration concepts, troubleshooting spreadsheets.
