Creativity in Elementary School: The purpose of this course is to focus on the foundations and techniques of art, music and physical education as integrated aspects of the school curriculum. A review of the principles behind the concept of creativity and its relationship to daily classroom activities is also considered. The diversified curriculum is based on current research in teaching elementary arts, health education, and physical education that responds to national and state competencies and standards.

In addition, this course focuses on physical, social, and emotional growth and development, personal health and wellness, community health and safety issues, instructional practices, subject content and appropriate curriculum design and assessment strategies in teaching physical education and health education in the elementary school.

Emphasis is on the areas of concept and skill development as they relate to the needs of children living in a multicultural society.
