(3 credits) The study of the principles and procedures involved in properly installing and maintaining plant materials in the landscape. Prerequisite: ORH 1517, BOT 1000 with a D or better.

(5 credits) (12 week supervised internship) Supervised training in basic landscape operations at selected landscape sites. Certain division restrictions and requirements apply. Prerequisite: ORH 2842C.

(3 credits) GE, GR Examination of contemporary theories and fundamental principles of oral interpretation, with emphasis on valuation and application through oral performances of selected prose, drama, and poetry. Prerequisite: REA 0002 and ENC 0020 or score out on appropriate placement test.

(3 credits) Introduces students, both individually and in groups, to an imaginative and skillful oral rendering and analysis of dramatic literature and prose. Prerequisite: ENC 1101.

(3 credits) F Introduction to computer keyboard with emphasis on touch typing of alphabetic and numeric keys. Basic business documents, including business letters, memos, and reports will be keyed using Microsoft Word functions for creating, editing, and formatting documents. Lab fee.

(3 credits) F This course is designed for individuals with minimal or no keyboarding skill. It can also be for individuals who want to acquire the "correct" touch method of keyboarding. Thefi rst 30 sessions will be basic training for the touch method. The last 30 sessions will be using basic electronic word processing commands in order to produce correct copies of a variety of different business letters, personal business letters, reports, tables, and memos, as well as a personal resume and cover letter, and medical reports, forms, and manuscripts.

(1 credit) (offered as needed) Develops basic touch keyboarding skill to key alphabetic, numeric, and special symbol keys. No previous instruction in keyboarding required. Lab fee.

(3 credits) This course is an introduction to the basics of customer service technology. Emphasis is on enhancing customer relations skills, building a rapport with customers, and improving communication and negotiating skills. Students will learn how to respond to customer requirements and to effi ciently handle diffi cult situations.

(3 credits) This course is designed to provide techniques for the development of "people" skills essentialfor job success. Topics include developing a positive self-image, a professional self-image, ethics, time management, human relations and communication skills, organizational dynamics, interpersonal development skills, employability skills, confl ict management skills, and professional development.
