(3 credits) F, SP Introduction to Agribusiness is a course designed to allow the student to explore the many career choices within the agriculture industry, not only in Florida but the nation as well. This course is designed to introduce agribusiness management, marketing, and sales in the free enterprise system. Topics may include a broad study of the modern agribusiness system, agricultural career opportunities, management principles, business organization types, economic principles, fi nancial records and budgeting, fi nance, sales and marketing, employee/ employer responsibilities, and human relations skills.

This course traces the social, economic, and political aspects of the African-American experience utilizing a cultural, as well as historical, approach. The student will undertake a research project in an appropriate area of study which will result in 6,000 words of typed material. (3 credits) GR This course is a survey of the major periods of African-American literature. Attention will be given to the African background of the works and the study will cover historical, as well as literary, elements of the works, their authors, and the time periods. There will be a concentration on literary conventions, terms, and themes, as well as the authors' political, social, and economic backgrounds. Prerequisite: ENC 1101 with a grade of C or better, or Instructor's permission.
