Discussion of contemporary issues in art and culture, including the use of traditional principles in sculpture in an age of mass production. Class assignments and individual projects explore technical, conceptual, and historical issues central to the language of painting. Materials fee: $75. Intended for students not majoring in Art and for Art majors outside the painting concentration. Students who intend to pursue the painting concentration or take multiple courses in painting should take art 230a and/or 231b.
