Prerequisite: Permission of honors coordinator or department LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. An introduction to the fundamental principles of statistical methods. The course will integrate spreadsheet software to cover such topics as descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, probability, binomial and normal distributions, sampling, elementary hypothesis testing and confidence intervals. Comprehensive case studies will be covered throughout the semester.
