Prerequisite: Department Permission LEC as required; LAB 3 hrs., Course Fee $2,500 This is a continuation of flight training required to meet the practical test standards for the commercial certificate and instrument rating. The student is introduced to commercial maneuvers and instrument flying, solo cross-country flying using pilotage, dead-reckoning and radio navigation. This course will take place off campus at the airport. Scheduling of flight lessons is the responsibility of the student. This course runs for 8 weeks.

The student is expected to practice and refine the maneuvers and instrument flying, solo cross-country flying skills, dead reckoning and radio navigation techniques learned in Flight Training IIA. This course will take place off campus at the airport. Scheduling of flight lessons is the responsibility of the student. This course runs for 8 weeks.

Prerequisite: Department Permission LEC as required; LAB 3 hrs., Course fee $2,500 This is a continuation of flight training required to meet the practical test standards for the commercial certificate and instrument rating. The student will complete the solo cross-country requirements during this phase of training and develop a high degree of proficiency in commercial and primary maneuvers. Instrument flight training will begin in Flight III. This course will take place off campus at the airport. Scheduling of flight lessons is the responsibility of the student. This course runs for 5 weeks.

3.00 Credits
Prerequisites: MAT 011 (or equivalent), ENG 025 (or equivalent) LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. It is the purpose of this course to have the student gain the knowledge of the design, function and operation of aircraft engines, aircraft instruments, and maintenance operations. The student should be able to understand the inspections and the function of maintenance personnel as they relate to aircraft maintenance. The student should also be able to explain the operations of various aircraft components and instruments and be able to describe their operation.

Prerequisite: AVT 110 LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. This course is designed to prepare the student to pass the FAA Instrument Pilot Computer Examination. Subject areas include FAR's air traffic system and procedures, Airman' s Information Manual, IFR navigation systems, IFR charts and approach procedures, weather, forecasts and IFR flight instruments. Successful completion of this course requires a passing grade on the FAA Commercial Pilot Knowledge exam, which is given at computer testing centers available throughout the area. The fee for the exam is the responsibility of the student.

Prerequisite: AVT 110 LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. This course is a continuation of the study of commercial pilot flight operation and is designed to prepare the student to successfully pass the FAA Commercial Pilot computer examination. Subject areas covered include advanced topics in aircraft performance, meteorology, aircraft systems, radio navigation, aerodynamics, weight and balance, FARs, physiology of flight, environmental systems and operational procedures. Successful completion of this course requires a passing grade on the FAA Commercial Pilot Knowledge exam, which is given at computer testing centers available throughout the area. The fee for the exam is the responsibility of the student.
