LEC 3 hrs.., LAB 0 hrs. This course introduces the concepts of supply chain management. The student will be able to understand how good supply chain management can be a competitive advantage of a firm. Within the strategic framework, facilities, inventory, transportation and information are identified as key drivers of supply chain management.

Prerequisite: BUS 218 LEC 3 hrs.., LAB 0 hrs. Builds on the knowledge learned in the Investment Principles course with more in-depth security analysis. The course takes a strategy approach to investing by employing hands-on techniques for profitable decision making within a diversified portfolio. Learning risk/return tradeoffs, reducing risk through portfolio analysis under particular economic conditions, exploring fundamental and technical analysis, and utilizing derivatives by adding futures and options to a portfolio will allow the student to become a more knowledgeable decision maker. Other topics include the time value of money, financial ratio analysis, and the use of real estate alternatives and limited partnerships in portfolio creation. The use of financial periodicals will be required.

LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. Prerequisites: PSY 113, PSY 213, PSY 217, ENG 118, MUS 129, REC 118 This course will focus on the growth and development of the child, birth through age eight. Special emphasis will be placed on cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development. It will cover a variety of factors that influence child development. The objectives of this course are for the student to understand that a variety of factors influence the behavior of the child. In understanding the capability of the developing child, the early childhood teacher will be better enabled to provide the child with appropriate care. A field work component includes observations of children's behavior in an early childhood setting. The purpose of this is to understand the need for goals, helping the child achieve these goals, and providing for individual differences.

Prerequisites: PSY 113, PSY 213, PSY 217, ENG 118, MUS 129, REC 118 Corequisite: CDC 229 LEC 3 hrs., LAB 0 hrs. This course provides selected students in the Early Childhood programs with job-oriented training and practical experience in a work environment. Students desiring to participate in this experience should make this intention known to the Faculty Coordinator at the beginning of their third semester.

Prerequisites: PSY 113, PSY 213, PSY 217, ENG 118, MUS 129, REC 118 Corequisite: CDC 228 LEC 1 hr., LAB 0 hrs. A supplement to the cooperative work experience program, this course provides a variety of experiences that will further enhance students' career development and occupational development. It also will develop positive points of view toward human relationships and the responsibilities of both the employee and the employer.

LEC 3 hrs.; LAB 0 hrs. This course satisfies the Diversity/Global Perspective requirement provided the language is not the student's native language. Not for native speakers. Not intended for students with two or more years of high school Chinese. This course is intended for students with no prior knowledge of, or with limited background in, the language. Emphasis on fundamentals of conversation, reading, and writing. Practice in pronunciation, basic vocabulary and the essentials of grammar.

This course satisfies the Diversity/Global Perspective requirement provided the language is not the student's native language. Students with one prior semester of Chinese expand their abilities in speaking, reading and writing Chinese. The student will develop more advanced usage of the Chinese language.

Prerequisite: CHI 112 or permission of department chairperson. LEC 3 hrs.; LAB 0 hrs. This course satisfies the Diversity/Global Perspective requirement provided the language is not the student's native language. This course is a continuation of Elementary Chinese II. It expands the Chinese vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing skills of those students wishing to attain intermediate knowledge of the Chinese language.

Prerequisite: CHI 211 or permission of department chairperson. LEC 3 hrs.; LAB 0 hrs. This course is a continuation of Intermediate Chinese I. It expands the Chinese vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing skills of those students wishing to attain intermediate knowledge of the Chinese language.

Prerequisite: An advanced course in Chinese or permission of department chairperson. LEC 3 hrs.; LAB 0 hrs. This course is an examination of selected topics or issues in Chinese language or culture. Topics may differ each time the course is offered. Students should contact the Department Chairperson for further information.
