REA 82: Reading, Level II

Prerequisite:REA-81 or qualifying preparation score. Intended for students who experience significant difficulty in reading college-level materials. Instruction in reading skills at a less basic level than that required in REA-81, along with individually prescribed practice work, in which a wide range of materials will be utilized. Subsequent enrollment in an additional semester will provide the student an opportunity for additional skills and competency development within the subject matter. May be taken a total of two times. 54 hours lecture and 36 hours laboratory. (Non-degree credit course. Letter Grade, or Pass/No Pass option.)

This course is designed to coordinate the student's occupational on-thejob training with related classroom instruction. Students enrolled in this occupational work experience course must be employed in a field related to the work experience subject area. Students may earn up to four (4) units each semester for a maximum of 16 units of work experience. No more than 20 hours per week may be applied toward the work requirement. 18 hours lecture. Additionally, 60 hours of volunteer work or 75 hours of paid work is required for each unit.
