Emphasis is on the acquisition of venipuncture and blood withdrawal skills. Course approved by the BRN and BVNPTE for continuing education hours. Pass/no pass grading. Short term class.     Provides a systematic approach to handle cardiorespiratory emergencies using the American Heart Association 2000 Advanced Cardiac Life Support Protocols. Gives instruction for the resuscitation team to know what to do and when to do it to minimize confusion that may occur in emergency situations. Covers the ten main arrest situations in a case based scenario, provides algorithms for managing each scenario including pharmacologic treatment, respiratory devices, AED's and defibrillators. Basic life support card highly recommended for enrollment. Pass/no pass grading. Short term class. Total of 16 hours lecture.
