Individual or small-group instruction in the standard literature for the students' performing medium - instrument or voice. Historical context, form and harmonic aspects, technical demands, stylistic nuances, and expressive considerations of the pieces studied. One half-hour weekly with an applied music instructor and participation in an Applied Music recital class. Required end of semester jury performance. Preparation for transferring to a four-year school or entering the music industry. Maximum credit 4 units, 1 unit each semester. For students playing at the sophomore level.
