Prerequisites: Appropriate placement test score; successful completion of ESL 146 and 147 or completion of the Palo Alto Adult School ESL course sequence. Ten hours lecture, two hours laboratory.     A listening/speaking course focusing on preparing students for listening to authentic lectures and classroom discussions. Prerequisites: Appropriate placement test score or successful completion of ESL 156 and 157, or ESL 154. Advisory: Successful completion of ESL 157 strongly recommended; concurrent enrollment in ESL 167 recommended; designed for students whose native language is not English.
