Through holding a job, fulfilling work-related assignments and participating in on-campus activities, students are assisted in the process of developing a concept of self, understanding their role in the work world and setting realistic goals. An assigned faculty coordinator helps the student focus on the job skills necessary for transition into a chosen career. Advisory: Student must be currently employed and obtain approval of Work Experience instructional personnel. Through holding a job, fulfilling work-related assignments and participating in apprenticeship trade activities,apprentices are assisted in the process of developing concepts of self, understanding their role in the work world and setting realistic goals. Assigned instructor assists the student focus on the job skills necessary for transition into a chosen trade. Learning/performance objectives agreed upon between the student and employer will be identified and carried out. Apprentices will be encouraged to view their objectives in terms of a planned series of experiences. Repeatability: May be taken four times for credit. Fifty hours of paid employment.
