The structures and functions of microorganisms will be examined including viruses, bacteria, fungi, protista, and helminths, their roles in the environment, and their impact on human health. An introduction to biotechnology and practical applications of microbiology will also be incorporated. This course may not be taken if credit has been received for BIO 216.
