Emphasis is placed on female anatomy and physiology relative to changes which occur in a women's body from youth to old age and the specific aspects of health and disease related to these changes.     This course examines the molecular, cellular and genetic basis for the more than 100 different diseases called cancer. Topics include the biology of uncontrolled cellular growth, the causes of cancer, symptoms, diagnosis, staging and the psychological effects of cancer. Methods used to access local and national cancer resources are covered. The roles of the family practioner, surgeon, pathologist, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist on the cancer team are considered. This course is designed for anyone with a personal or professional interest in preventing cancer and learning about cancer from a clinical and practical view. Information covered in this course allows one to be better informed and prepared to deal with the disease of cancer. This course qualifies for 45 CEUs of professional development.
