Electronic System Installation covers the design, installation, integration, and certification of residential low-voltage wiring systems, such as: telephone, data communications, video systems, cable and satellite systems, audio systems, home automation, security systems, and other integrated home technologies. Hands-on installation, testing, and certification of these systems will occur during the lab portion of this course. Students will be prepared for residential low-voltage industry certifications. Prerequisite: ELET B1 or evaluation by the instructor of student's basic electronic skills. Recommended: Reading Level 5 or 6. Hours: 45 lect, 27 lab. Repeat: 1. CCS: Occupational Education. Foundation skills and assessment techniques to care for an ill or injured person in the pre-hospital setting. Follows state regulations for EMT-1 training and leads to certification at the county level. Required for ambulance personnel and appropriate for many other first care providers such as law enforcement and fire personnel. The student must meet Allied Health Department health requirements to participate in the laboratory section of the course. Any expenses involved in meeting the health requirements are the student's expense. Must be at least 18 years of age by the end of class. Students who do not possess CPR will not be accepted into the class. Mandatory physical examination/immunizations will be required within two weeks of the beginning of the course and are at the student's expense. Failure to meet these requirements will result in student ineligibility for clinical objectives. Prerequisite: Students must have a copy of a current CPR (American Heart Association Health Care Provider) card. Recommended: MEDS B60 (3 units). Hours: 128 lect plus 24 ER/ambulance experience. Offered: F, S. Repeat: As necessary for state EMS regulations. CCS: Occupational Education. Not Transferable: Associate Degree only.

I Recertification Preparation (1 unit) A review of material in EMTC B50 with updates on EMT issues and new material or skill techniques. An approved refresher course that follows state regulations and leads to a recertification completion certificate. Required to continue practice of pre-hospital emergency care. Prerequisite: Current EMT 1 certification or certification that has expired in less than one year. Hours: 24 lect/lab, plus 3 hours by arrangement. Offered: S. This course involves the study of the drama and sonnets of William Shakespeare. Historical information regarding Shakespeare and Elizabethan England will be covered in order to increase students' appreciation of his accomplishments. Discussions and video presentations will highlight the relevance of Shakespeare's work today. Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of ENGL B1 with a minimum grade of "C" or English Level 6 .
