    Essential human relations skills and methods of effective tutoring, placing these skills into practice with tutees referred by the Tutor Coordinator. Students may be referred by subject area instructor(s). Prerequisite: Minimum grade of 'B' in thesubject to be tutored or approval of subject area instructor and successful completion of specific training in tutoring methods or evaluation of prerequisite by the Tutor Trainer and/or Tutor Coordinator.     Recommended for students who need to improve vocabulary and reading comprehension and flexibility. Focuses on demonstration and application of reading strategies as they apply to textbook reading. Includes paragraph analysis, study strategies such as SQ3R and outlining, and vocabulary building techniques. Practice in application and analysis level of thinking.     Designed to prepare students for success in English B60 by developing sentence writing skills in the context of a paragraph. Emphasizes writing practice and the review of basic grammatical structures, writing mechanics, and proper usage. Recommended: Reading Level 3, English Level 3, ACDV B52, B201b, B91, bilingual/bi-cultural students should have successfully completed ENSL B55ab. Hours: 72 lect/ disc. Repeat: 1.     Emphasizes paragraph development, including writing a variety of paragraphs; expository, sequential, narrative, process, compare and contrast, and descriptive.     Course emphasizes mastering basic English sentence structure and how to write four kinds of sentences: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex.
