This course covers the basics associated with Web site design and production including file formats, current software applications, HTML, color and image management, design, flow charts and navigational techniques. This course covers the use of appropriate software applications needed to compress multimedia files for Internet and CD usage, effective screen and hard copy images for critique and portfolio presentation, and proper use of color management for Internet Web pages. Additionally, it focuses on the use of essential design elements associated with multimedia productions needed to produce interactive media that is aesthetically rich and founded on principles of design that are artistically sound. 1-4 units hours vary Prerequisite: Students must be registered in at least 7 units (including the Work Experience units) and have approval of instructor supervising work experience subject area. Prior to enrolling, students must attend a scheduled orientation. The Work Experience program provides supervised employment extending classroom-based learning to an on-thejob learning situation. Students meet with instructor by arrangement to discuss learning objectives, along with experiences and/or problems arising on the job. (CSU, AVC) ( R3)

Focus will be on the advanced components required to develop interactive Web sites. Areas covered within this course are the methods necessary to create frames, image maps, animated gifs, importing sound and QuickTime movies. Emphasis is on developing design techniques used to create projects and doing so independently and as part of a team. (CSU, AVC) ( R2)

This course focuses on the integrated components required to develop a portfolio quality video. Areas covered within this course are the methods necessary to direct, produce, and light an interactive video production within the context of a working team and then the production. (CSU, AVC) ( R2)
