    3.5 units 5 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab) Prerequisite: Completion of CT 110. Advisory: Eligibility for READ 097 and MATH 050. An advanced clothing construction course involving the techniques used in tailoring. A coat, suit, dress, jacket and dress or pant suit, or some type of men's clothing will be constructed. The individual student will select a project to satisfy desires related to creative, personal, or vocational pursuits. (CSU, AVC)

    1-4 units hours vary Prerequisite: Students must be registered in at least 7 units (including the Work Experience units) and have approval of instructor supervising work experience subject area. Prior to enrolling, students must attend a scheduled orientation. The Work Experience program provides supervised employment extending classroom-based learning to an on-thejob learning situation. Advanced clothing construction course involving the techniques used in fashion sewing. Instruction and practice in techniques used to create couture and custom garments. Techniques of handling special and difficult fabrics, special and designer patterns. Features fine finishing details. This course is required for all clothing majors. (CSU, AVC) ( R3)

    3.5 units 5 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab) Prerequisite: Completion of CT 110. An advanced clothing construction course involving the techniques used in wearable art. Students will look at creative clothing from a cultural and historic point of view. Students will construct a three-piece ensemble. A variety of designer patterns, techniques, and fabrics will be used. (AVC) ( R3)

    3.5 units 5 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab) Prerequisite: Completion of CT 110. Advisory: Eligibility for READ 097 and MATH 050. Students will develop skills in creating original design through flat pattern process, correct fitting techniques and basic construction of muslin "sloper" willresult in a filled personal pattern by which all designs and styles can be applied and drafted.     3.5 units 5 hours weekly (3 hours lecture, 2 hours lab) Prerequisite: Completion of CT 112 or CT 213. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 097, READ 099 and MATH 050. Advanced clothing construction course of pattern making using draping techniques. Custom patterns of various designs will be draped. Pattern making by draping of custom patterns in muslin on dress form or live models will be made for any garment. Some are cut in intended fabric and constructed. Design of personal dress form will be demonstrated. This class provides vocational education for students entering the clothing profession. (CSU, AVC)

    2 units 2 hours weekly Limitation on Enrollment: Students must be 21 years of age or older on the first day of class in order to participate in wine tastings, per California law. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099 and READ 099. Identification of wines from wine districts of California, France, Germany and Italy is emphasized. The concept of food and wine pairing is introduced. (AVC)

    2 units 2 hours weekly Limitation on Enrollment: Students must be 21 years of age or older on the first day of class in order to participate in wine tastings, per California law. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099 and READ 099. The course provides an applied approach to matching wines and food from various regions of the world using flavors, textures, and components present in food and wine as complementing strategies. E m p h a s i s i s o n m e n u p l a n n i n g , preparation of foods, cooking methods, and tasting wines with food. Concepts can be applied to home preparation of food with wine, restaurant food production with wine, and dining out. (AVC)

    2 units 2 hours total Limitation on Enrollment: Students must be 21 years of age or older on the first day of class in order to participate in wine tastings, per California law. Prerequisite: Completion of CULA 120 or CULA 121. Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099 and READ 099. Technical aspects of the description and evaluation of wines are presented. Wine production from the vineyard to the bottle is examined. (AVC)

Advisory: Eligibility for ENGL 099 and READ 099. Identification of wines from Southern Europe, South America, South Africa, and Oceania are emphasized. Wines of California are compared to wines of the southern hemisphere. Food and wine pairings of unique varietals are discussed. (AVC)
