Corequisite: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in a general education course (AHC, CSU or IGETC) that is available in the Honors program. Acceptable for credit: CSU, UC-Determined after admission Designed as an enriching experience associated with a specific general education course. Material will be intensive indepth coverage or more advanced study of the topics included in the prerequisite/corequisite general education course. Offered as an independent studies opportunity for advanced academic achievement. Students are limited to enrollment in one Honors course per discipline each semester. Topics include developmental stages of groups, group formation, constructive and ineffective processes, behavioral ground rules, interventions, entry into and exit from groups, ethics, cultural and ethnic diversity, documentation of client behavior, and self-awareness in group situations. Acceptable for credit: CSU An overview of the role of alcohol and other drugs in society with emphasis on such topics as patterns of use; major categories of drugs; explanations of use, abuse and dependency; as well as prevention, intervention, and treatment.
