This course of study focuses on the fundamental visual and technical design of websites-to include Adobe Flash with emphasis on the user experience and accessibility. The goal of Web User Interface Engineering is to create an effective and intuitive experience-often called "user-centered design". Where good graphic design is comprised of purely visual elements, effective web interface design is comprised of cross-browser, technically transparent and visually effective elements, reaching the widest possible target audience. The course is principally academic and will use a variety of time-tested methodologies to form a system for the student to make intelligent, informed and technically sound decisions when developing web interfaces.
