This course is intended to provide the student with the fundamentals and technical knowledge needed for proper fire scene interpretations, including recognizing and conducting origin and cause, preservation of evidence and documentation, scene security, motives of the fire setter, and types of fire causes. Internet students must have access to the Internet and a browser. Prerequisite: Hazardous Materials - Awareness.

A course designed for students who are beginning college for the first time. This course will assist the student in the transition to college life, and to develop positive attitudes about themselves and the learning process while acquiring skills essential for academic and personal success. The course will include an overview of academic rules and regulations, degree and career planning, learning to use the Learning Resource Center, study skills, time management, and other related materials. This course does not count towards credit requirements of associate degrees or certificates.

This course is to include the 20 contact hours of Child Abuse Juvenile taught by Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) as concurrent credit with SAU Tech. Topics include: 911 Calls Involving Children (Practical), Child Abuse Recognition, Child Sexual Abuse, Interviewing Child Victims (Sex, Assault, Practical), Interviewing Child Victims (P/M Abuse; Sex, Assault), Juvenile Law and Causes of Delinquent Behavior, and Missing and Exploited Children.
