Topics include factoring, solving equations, graphing functions, polynomials, radicals, complex numbers, j-operator, angular measure, and trigonometric functions. Prerequisites: MAT 1002 or 1133 with a "C" or better or Math ACT of 19 or higher (45or higher on Compass algebra domain).

This course introduces students to health care records and medical documents and provides an overview of the professional medical transcription environment and various forms and techniques used in health care reports. Topics include transcription of basic medical dictation, incorporating English usage and machine transcription skills, medical terminology, and proofreading and editing skills, and the student will meet progressivelydemanding accuracy and productivity standards. Co-requisite: ALDH 1043.

It also includes the use of case studies, surgical reports, admission/discharge summaries, etc., to expand and apply transcription skills. Prerequisite: MEDT 1003 with a grade of "C" or higher.

This course includes theory and application to include principles, testing, and pathological states in urinalysis and body fluid analysis and proper care, operation, and use of a microscope and equipment utilized in the testing of urine and body fluids. Prerequisite: Acceptance in the MLT Program Clinical Phase and MLT 1003.

This course provides supervised experience in the clinical laboratory designed to develop additional skills and technical abilities in phlebotomy and urinalysis. Prerequisite: MLT 1203 and ALDH 1002 with a grade of "C" or better.

This course includes theory and application to include principles, testing, and pathological states in immunology, and parasitology. This course covers an overview of the proper collection of parasitology specimens, identification of blood parasites, intestinal protozoa, human round worms, and flat worms, including life cycles and infective stages as well as the theory of the immune process and antigen/antibody reactions and their applications to diagnostic serological testing.. Upon completion of this course, the student understands the clinical roles these areas play in the treatment of patients. Prerequisites: Grade of "C" or better in all previous MLT courses andcompletion of MLT 1003.
