    This course prepares students for the Cisco Multilayer Switching Certification Examination, the third of four tests leading to the CCNP Certification. The course is based on the Cisco Networking Academy CCNP 3 Multilayer Switching curriculum and trains on the deployment of state-of-the-art campus LANs, focusing on the selection and implementation of the appropriate Cisco IOS services to build reliable, scalable, multiplayer-switched LANs. Students develop skills with VLANs, VTP, STP, inter- VLAN routing redundancy, Cisco AVVID, QoS issues, campus LAN security, and transparent LAN services. This course will typically be offered in the evening based on demand and is geared toward network professionals working toward CCNP Certification. Prerequisite: CIT 2213 or current CCNA Certification.

    This course prepares students for the Cisco Network Troubleshooting Certification Examination, the final of four tests leading to the CCNP Certification. The basis for this course is the Cisco Networking Academy CCNP 4 curriculum which emphasizes troubleshooting and repair/correction of network problems. The course covers documenting and baselining a network, troubleshooting methodologies and tools, as well as OSI layers 1 through 7 troubleshooting. This course will typically be offered in the evening based on demand and is geared toward network professionals working toward CCNP Certification. Prerequisite: CIT 2213 or current CCNA Certification.

    This one-hour lab course is required of students enrolled in CP 0613 Math. It provides students the opportunity to practice the skills they are learning in the lecture class. Through this lab experience, students develop their abilities to solve problems involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and proportion, percents, and rational numbers. Students complete course assignments (readings, workbook pages, computer modules, etc.) on their own with assistance from the lab instructor or assistants. Most of the course work is completed in the lab with a minimal amount of take-home work. This course is held in the College Preparatory Lab in the Learning Assistance Center. Co-requisite: CP 0613.

    This course provides the student with small group and individual instruction in basic mathematics up to an introduction to Beginning Algebra. Refresher training is provided in multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and signed numbers. Enrollment in the course is voluntary or required based on placement testing. Corequisite: CP 0611.

    This course prepares students for the pace and content of Intermediate Algebra. It introduces the abstract thinking and concepts of algebra. Some of the concepts taught include factoring, linear and quadratic equations, special products, roots and radicals. Enrollment in the course is voluntary or required based on placement testing. The instruction for this course will be given via computerized instructional modules with an instructor present during all class meetings. All assignments will be completed in the computerized classroom. Students may also need to do additional math work in the computerized classroom outside of regular classroom hours.

    This course is recommended for students who want to increase their knowledge of words. It emphasizes the development of vocabulary through the use of context clues, affixes and roots, and the dictionary. This course is designed for students whose reading skills are below college level. Students complete course assignments (readings, workbook pages, computer modules, etc.) on their own with the assistance from the lab instructor or assistants. This course may be individually arranged to accommodate the student's regular class schedule. Most of the course work is completed in the lab with a minimal amount of take-home work. This course is held in the College Preparatory Lab in the Learning Assistance Center.

    This course assists students who need additional composition experience before enrolling in CP 0903. The content of this course focuses on basic composition skills, focusing on paragraph development. It also teaches the essential grammar principles needed to write effectively. Enrollment is based on placement testing. Co-requisite: CP 0813.

    This course is a thorough review of the essentials of English grammar and sentence structure and includes extensive practice in writing complete, grammatically correct sentences and in recognizing the parts of the sentence. Enrollment in the course is voluntary or required based on placement testing. (This meets in the Learning Lab.) Corequisite: CP 0802.

This lab experience teaches sufficient grammar, punctuation, and usage rules to enable students to write effectively in the Fundamentals of Composition lecture class. Students complete course assignments (readings, workbook pages, computer modules, etc.) on their own with assistance from the lab instructor or assistants. Most of the course work is completed in the lab with a minimal amount of take-home work. This course is held in the College Preparatory Lab in the Learning Assistance Center. Co-requisite: CP 0903.
