This course helps ASP.NET web developers to design attractive web sites using MS Expressions Web. Students learn to create industry-standard web pages that can also contain ASP controls and high quality graphics. Pages designed in MS Expression Web can then be directly opened for coding in Visual Studio ASP web projects. Prerequisite: CIS 1103 or permission of instructor.

The course develops an intermediate level of understanding of object oriented programming. Design Patterns combine the object oriented technologies taught in CIS 2653 into reusable solution patterns commonly used in real world business applications. This course teaches comprehension of a number of the design patterns described by the Gang of Four (GoF) in their seminal book entitled Design Patterns. Equally important, by studying professional coding patterns, students begin to learn how to analyze programming problems from an object oriented paradigm. Software: C#.Net. Prerequisite: CIS 2653 or permission of instructor.

This course teaches the advanced features of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and how the programs interact with each other. This class uses extensive hands-on activity. Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared to take the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Exams in each of these programs. Pre-and/or Co-requisites: CIS 1253, 1333, 2423 or permission of instructor.

In order to improve network and internet communications, Microsoft has introduced the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) with the Windows Vista operation system. WCF defines a unified programming model for a variety of types of communication. This course creates and uses web services, which allows data to be transmitted across a network or across the internet. Pre- or co-requisite: CIS 2883 or permission of instructor.

Demand for web and game-design skills has created job opportunities for artists, programmers, and software/digital media specialists. This course builds on the 2-D animation skills learned in CIS 2843 Fundamentals of 2-D Animation (Macromedia Flash.) The student learns to script complex animation sequences used in advertising, web page design, and game development. Software: Adobe Flash. Prerequisite: CIS 2843.

This course introduces various search techniques to use in locating information on the Internet. Individual projects are assigned that teach students how to access Web sites and look for information while visiting sites that provide information related to using the Internet or topics of general interest that they will be able to use in the future.

This course takes students through the core competencies for Microsoft Outlook in preparation for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification test. Students learn how to send and retrieve messages, schedule appointments, organize and manage tasks and contact lists, and customize Outlook.

This course explores the foundations of animating in a 3-D environment. It also covers simple animations, logos, shape motion, environmental effects, modeling, texturing, and lighting. The Soft/Image XSI 3-D Animation software package will be utilized for the class. Prerequisite: CIS 1103

This course provides an introduction to web page design. It includes basic instruction in HTML, together with instruction in the most current version of Macromedia Dreamweaver web editing software. It is taught in a Windows environment using multiple browsers for page viewing. Prerequisite: CIS 1103

This course provides an introduction to 2D animation using the program Adobe Flash. Students will learn to plan, storyboard, and create movies. Skills learned will include working with symbols, layers, libraries, buttons, actions, scenes, and tweening. Prerequisite: CIS 1103
