This course covers the use of electronic files as well as creation of database applications and manipulation of database information will be covered, including sorting, selecting, creating reports, and analyzing database records. Prerequisite: CIS 1103 or Dean's approval.

4.00 Credits
In this programming course, students focus on writing complex queries in T-SQL to access data stored in a SQL Server database. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to write T-SQL transactions using parameterized stored procedures. Software: SQL Server 2005. Prerequisite: CIS 1653 or permission of instructor.

5.00 Credits
Most next-generation video games are 3-D, so this course focuses on 3-D gaming environment. Building upon what was learned in Game Development I, students explore the use of a 3-D engine, which will allow real-time rendering of 3-D models. Topics include polygon meshes, clipping, ray-tracing, game physics, and terrain movement. Students are expected to put what they have learned from previous game development classes together with this one to create portfolio-quality products by the end of the semester. Prerequisite: CIS 1453. Pre-or co-requisites: CIS 2743, 2663, 2823.

This course introduces the student to various electronic means of presenting information of professional design and quality using presentation software. Power Point and the Web will be used. The content of this course may lead to MOUS Certification. A separate MOUS Certification Examination must be passed. Prerequisite: CIS 1103.

This course provides students with hands-on experience with several software applications in the use of information technology for solving business problems. Topics include word processing and desktop publishing features; spreadsheet design, formulas, and charts; database design principles and implementation; presentation design and techniques; and integration among these applications. Students will work in groups on a variety of projects with a variety of tools. Prerequisite: CIS 1103.

Many business projects require information sharing and workflows. Microsoft created office SharePoint Server, Windows SharePoint Services, and the Windows Workflow libraries and runtime modules to address this need. MS InfoPath or ASP.NET can be used to generate forms used in workflows. Students will learn to install Office SharePoint Server and create information libraries and workflows. The data will be collected in a SQL Server database. Prerequisite: CIS 1633. Pre- or co-requisite: CIS 2663 and CIS 2873 or permission of instructor.

Since the pace of change of computer software is occurring at a rapid rate, this course examines some of the latest software technology being developed by Microsoft. Prerequisite: CIS 2853.

5.00 Credits
This course is the first in a series of three courses dealing with Object Oriented Programming. The course introduces students to object oriented programming technology. Topics include reading and writing classes, working with objects, collections, types, delegates, events, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and object models. Prerequisite: CIS 1603 or permission of instructor if the student has had prior programming experience.

In this very important course, students access files, XML data, and MS Access and MS SQL Server databases. With the introduction of the .NET framework, Microsoft created ADO.NET. This set of classes accesses files, databases, and XML streams in either connected or disconnect configurations. Disconnected data sets are particularly useful with accessing web sites and web databases where open connections are not maintained. Prerequisite: CIS 2443. Pre- or co-requisite: CIS 2743.

1.00 Credits
This course covers the basics of the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and extensions (XHTML) used to code web pages. It introduces Cascading StyleSheets (CSS 2) to managing web page layout and formatting. Prerequisite: CIS 1103 or permission of instructor.
