Provides a study of basic metallurgy; properties and classification of metals. The theory and application of basic oxyacetylene and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) is presented and includes the set-up of equipment, selecting electrodes, and running of beads in the flat position. Practical application is provided in the lab, with emphasis on safety. Fall only.

This course will cover the theory and application of intermediate SMAW (stick), intermediate GMAW (mig) and basic to intermediate GTAW (tig) processes. Equipment set-up, filler metal selection and weld inspection will be covered. Safety will be a priority. Prerequisite: IMT 1103 (Basic Welding). Spring only.

A continuation of Basic Electricity/Electronics I & II. Introduces students to electricity and power distribution in industrial and residential environments; industrial and residential wiring methods; single and three-phase service panels; and single and three-phase transformers. Includes an introduction to the National Electric Code (NEC) and code requirements for residential and industrial environments. Prerequisites: IDT 1114 (Introduction to Electronics). Fall only.

This course expands on the fundamental knowledge that was covered in the Basic Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating course, IMT 1114, with a stronger emphasis on diagnostic service and repair of refrigerators, freezers, and residential-to-light commercial systems. This course will also cover preventive maintenance and repair of the systems. Prerequisite: IMT 1114 (Basic Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating). Spring only

This course consists of discussions of: production systems, elements of planning and control, techniques for production planning, techniques for process planning, production scheduling, inventory replenishment, and material requirements planning. Spring only.
