Small ensemble requirement for all BM performance vocal majors on scholarship. Available as a small ensemble elective to all other vocal students, majors and non-majors. Introduces students to the media of opera by preparing a complete opera or several opera scenes. Teaches students how to prepare a musical role from both the musical and acting perspectives. Aids in the development of stage techniques that a student can use both as a performer and as a music educator. Taught as a workshop culminating in a public production with orchestra when possible. Prerequisite: Discretion of the professor and the voice teacher of the student. Fall, spring.
