Provides experience with equipment operation, application of patient care set-up of correct technical factors for radiographic exposures, and positioning patients accurately for radiographic exams. Provides opportunities for more responsibility and independence with previously learned procedures. Prerequisite: RADI 201 with a grade of C or greater. Corequisite: RADI 210. Focuses on the types of imaging equipment used in radiography including x-ray imaging systems, fluoroscopy tomography, screens, film, and automatic processing. Provides the basics of computed tomography (CT) including image formation, equipment, and terminology. Examines scanning techniques for basic CT procedures of the head, neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis, and sectional anatomy. Prerequisite: RADI 209. Lecture: 1.0 credits (15 contact hours).

Provides clinical experience through structured sequential competency-based clinical assignments to include the upper and lower extremities, bony and visceral thorax, abdomen, vertebral column, cranium, and contrast studies of the digestive, urinary, and central nervous systems, and arthrography. Includes basic CT scan procedures. Prerequisite: RADI 209. Clinical: 6 credits (360 contact hours).

Introduces equipment and advanced modalities used to complement diagnostic radiology. Includes principles of radiation biology, radiation protection, pathology and the systematic classifications of disease. Provides for a discussion of professional and legal standards. Prerequisite: RADI 210 with a grade of C or greater. Corequisite: RADI 221. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours) Laboratory: 1 credit (30 contact hours).

Continues RADI 211, Clinical IV. Provides experience with equipment operation, application of patient care set-up of correct technical factors for radiographic exposures, and positioning patients accurately for radiographic exams. Provides knowledge of radiation protection, effects of various radiation levels and methods to measure radiation. Introduces the principles of radiation biology. Prerequisite: RADI 214 and RADI 216 and RADI 219. Lecture: 2 credits (30 contact hours).

Introduces concepts related to disease and etiological considerations with emphasis on radiographic appearance of disease and impact on exposure factor selection. Prerequisite: RADI 214 and RADI 216 and RADI 219. Lecture: 1 credit (15 contact hours).

Introduces the format, rules, and regulations regarding certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state certification requirements. Prerequisite: RADI 214 and RADI 216 and RADI 219. Lecture: 2.0 credits (30 contact hours).
