A theoretical and practical introduction to cultural anthropology designed to provide insight into cultural forces that affect the human way of life, and to examine the Western history of interpreting "the other." Contemporary issues are addressed. Included are the study of material culture, technology, religion and language, and social, political, and economic systems. 3 hours lecture.
