This course introduces the student to the Linux operating system. Topics include basic/intermediate commands, file/directory structure and management, file/directory security, redirection, pipes, variables and aliases. The course also covers the necessary core Linux concepts and practical usage in order to work effectively in this operating system environment. Recommendation(s): CTSA 1001 with a grade of "C" or higher or concurrently enrolled or proof of current A+ certification or demonstrated, relevant work experience.

This course introduces the student to the Microsoft PowerShell scripting language. Topics include cmdlets, remoting, objects, wildcards, and variables. PowerShell programming (scripting) is covered in introductory and intermediate levels. In this class, students will study the necessary PowerShell scripting concepts and practical usage within the Microsoft operating system environment. Recommendation(s): CSTA 1013 or prior experience with Windows PowerShell and/or Windows Server.

Topics include advanced networking services, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), identity management, rights management, Federated services, network load balancing, failover clustering, business continuity and disaster recovery. This course will assist in preparing students for a professional certification in Windows Server operating system. Prerequisite(s): CTSA 1013 or Instructor Consent.

This course covers the skills needed to effectively design, deploy, and manage a unified messaging solution through the application of Microsoft Office 365. This course teaches students to plan, deploy, use functions and utilities, manage security, and optimize the operations of Office 365. In addition, students will configure and manage Microsoft SharePoint services. Prerequisite(s): CTSA 1013 or Instructor Consent Recommendation(s): CTSA 2015 and CTSA 2017

Along with a review of the basic construct, this course presents intermediate and advanced Linux operating system concepts and commands from a user and system administrator viewpoint. Traditional system management topics include security, software product installation, startup and shutdown, backups, performance and disk management. Administrative concepts include critical areas of network administration, security, and troubleshooting. Prerequisite(s): CTSA 1030 or Instructor Consent
