FALL A study of the five books of Moses as the foundation for the rest of Scripture. The Pentateuch will be studied from two perspectives. The content of each individual book will be dealt with and the major themes of the Pentateuch will be investigated. These themes will include creation, fall, covenant, redemption, and grace. Offered alternate years (Fall 2007) Prerequisite: BIB/HIS 135X

FALL This course includes a review of elementary Greek, work in extending basic vocabulary, translation of literature representative of various New Testament writers, and a study of grammar on an intermediate level. Special emphasis will be given to the use of Greek for teaching and preaching. Exegetical study of a selected scriptural passage based on the Greek text will be included. (Also LAN 430X) Prerequisites: LAN 341 and LAN 342 or consent of the instructor

FALL, SPRING, or SUMMER The course is designed as an exegetical investigation of the English text with comments on the Greek text where applicable. The course endeavors to acquaint the student with the theological teaching of the letter and assumes awareness of theological thought and procedures. Prerequisite: BIB/HIS 136X

2 cr. Introduction to cell biology, intended for studentswho are not majoring in the natural sciences (biology majors take BIO 1110 and 1120). Topics include the study of structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids; study of the structure, function and behavior of cells; an introduction to cellularmetabolism. 2 class hours.Prerequisite: CHM1025 or CHM 1110.

4 cr. Study of structure, function,and heredity of the human body primarily for students with a minimal science background. The content includes the organ systems, problems in development and function, basic principles of heredity, nature of gene function, inheritance of some human traits, and mechanisms for evolution. This course is not counted toward a biologymajor,but may be counted for the minor.

4 cr. Discussion of environmental problems which have developed through man's impact on nature: water resources, food supply, overpopulation and pollution problems are stressed. 4 class hours.

Introductory study of anatomy and physiology of the vertebrate bodywith an emphasis on the human.Topics include an introduction to cells, tissues,and systems organization,osteology, fluid compartments,gross and microscopic anatomy,physiology of the circulatory system, body defense systems and the gross anatomy of musculature. 3 class hours, 3-hour lab. Prerequisite: BIO/CHM 1036 or BIO 1110 and CHM 1035.
