This course is a continuation of Java Language I. After a brief review of Java Language I, the students will be involved in writing Java stand-alone applications as well as Java applets to be embedded in HTML documents. Graphics will be explored further and students will become versed in Exception Handling, arrays, ArrayLists, serialization and threads. Students are given a semester-long group project to allow them time to experience for themselves the capacity for superior solutions through group discussion. In core groups students will try on a repertoire of group roles, weed out successful from unsuccessful group behaviors, uncover cultural biases around teamwork, and witness the four stages of small group development.
