In this course, students will work in a licensed school salon to meet requirements stipulated by the State Board of Cosmetology. The course includes instruction in applied science and skills in shampooing, scalp and hair conditioning, hair design and shaping, chemical hair control, hair coloring, hair styling, skin care and facials, makeup, waxing, manicuring and nail care. Each student is required to complete a specific minimum number of clinical exercises as well as a minimum number of clinical hours to fulfill requirements set by the State Board of Cosmetology.

In this course, students will work in a licensed school salon to meet requirements stipulated by the State Board of Cosmetology. The course includes instruction in applied science and skills in cleaning, conditioning, shaping, reinforcing, coloring and enhancing of nails, and in the application and repair of artificial enhancements. Each student is required to complete a specific minimum number of clinical exercises as well as a minimum number of clinical hours to fulfill requirements set by the State Board of Cosmetology.

In this course, students will work in a licensed school salon to meet requirements stipulated by the State Board of Cosmetology. The course includes instruction in applied science and skills in the procedures of cosmetic care of the skin, client consultation and skin analysis, applications of facials and makeup, waxing, and eyelash extensions. Each student is required to complete a specific minimum number of clinical exercises as well as a minimum number of clinical hours to fulfill requirements set by the State Board of Cosmetology.

In this course, students will work in a licensed school salon to meet requirements stipulated by the State Board of Cosmetology. The hair technician course must include instruction in applied science and skills in shampooing, scalp and hair conditioning, hair design and shaping, chemical hair control, hair coloring and hair styling. Each student is required to complete a specific minimum number of clinical exercises, as well as a minimum number of clinical hours to fulfill requirements set by the State Board of Cosmetology.

In this course, students will learn correct methods of handling clipper cutting equipment to create precision haircuts. Students will understand the correct use of tools and equipment to enhance client services.

In this course, students will learn a variety of hair extension techniques including sew-in wefts, bead, fusion and tape-in extensions. Students will learn the limits with extensions, consultation, color matching, applications, blending, maintenance, removal and pricing.

This course focuses on the various types of non-surgical hair additions. Students will learn about the care and styling of wigs and basic braiding procedures to create hairstyles that are pleasing to clients.

This course will prepare the nail technician student for the general theory exam, written practical exam and Minnesota laws and rules exam issued by the Minnesota State Board of Cosmetology. Additionally, the student will practice mock tests in preparation for skills certification. Nail technician students will review their knowledge and skills in all theory and practical topics learned throughout their training. Completion of this course will help the student identify areas of weakness that need additional review prior to scheduling their state exams.
